The State of the CSR Profession: The corporate responsibility (CR) profession is stuck in a chicken-and-egg conundrum: before employers establish a CR career path, CR needs a defined curriculum; before educational institutions invest in a defined curriculum, they need to see a clear demand for CR professionals.

Fulfilling CR’s promise as a field and profession requires deliberate action to build a consensus within the field itself and about the field in society. Join BCLC’s Stephen Jordan and the Corporate Responsibility Officers Association’s (CROA) Richard Crespin as they uncover new findings from recent research into the state of the CR profession. Watch the archived video.

February 10, 2012 - How a Community's Configuration Affects Its Economy & CSR: Steve Rochlin will join Stephen this month to discuss how a community's configuration affects its economy, and how individual corporate citizenship programs fit into this larger picture. Steve is a Director at AccountAbility and Global Head of Advisory Services. He also frequently consults with leading brands on CR strategy, governance, stakeholder engagement, reporting and performance management. Steve has co-authored two books -- Untapped: Creating Value in Underserved Markets and Beyond Good Company: Next Generation Corporate Citizenship. Watch the archived video.

January 13, 2012 - Aman Singh, Editorial Director of CSRWire, joined Stephen for an intimate conversation about what happened in corporate social responsibility (CSR) in 2011 and what the field has in store for 2012. After spending 20+ years in marketing at agencies and over10 years as a consultant specializing in strategic lifestyle and cause with some work in CSR as well, I would really like to make a full transition into a permanent position with more CSR responsibilities. Having a marketing background gives me the tools and insights to bring CSR efforts to new levels with expanded results. My challenge is getting into the door -- any suggestions? Thank you.
